WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO BOOK A BARE SESSION?

Emily made me. :)

HOW WERE YOU FEELING BEFORE YOUR SESSION?

Nervous and unsure.

ANYTHING YOU'RE SELF-CONSCIOUS ABOUT?

Being photographed in general.

WHAT DID YOU HOPE TO SEE OR FEEL WHEN YOU LOOKED AT YOUR PHOTOS?

Me 15 years ago.

THREE WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOURSELF :

Sarcastic, good-natured, reserved

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO GAIN FROM YOUR SESSION?

Get out of my comfort zone and enjoy taking photos with my wife.

When Ryan and Emily arrived for their BARE Unfiltered Photography session at The Stutz in downtown Indianapolis, Ryan’s signature sarcasm came through immediately — which honestly made the shoot even more fun. Every witty comment and side-eye was part of the charm, breaking the ice and helping him relax into the moment. Ryan admitted right away that being in front of the camera isn’t his thing. He was nervous — like most people who’d rather be anywhere but under studio lights. But as the session went on, his guard dropped. Between laughter, quiet connection with Emily, and some perfectly timed dry humor, you could see a shift happen — from apprehension to genuine confidence. By the end, Ryan looked like a natural — confident, comfortable, and genuinely happy. His sarcasm became part of the story, reminding us that humor is one of the best tools for overcoming discomfort. Seeing the final black and white portraits was a turning point. What started as a reluctant “Emily made me” moment turned into something unexpectedly empowering — and maybe even fun.

Ryan’s BARE Unfiltered Photography session at The Stutz in Indianapolis is a perfect example of how vulnerability and humor can coexist, creating images that are both strong and real.

In His Words: Ryan’s Experience

“I hate being photographed, so I had a lot of apprehension going into the session. Gina made me comfortable from the start, and I finally started to enjoy getting my pictures taken. I was nervous seeing the pictures, but with how much my wife swooned over how I looked, I couldn’t help but feel great about myself. I got out of my comfort zone and genuinely enjoyed taking photos with my wife.”
